Piro Pizza Stone
Indispensable in the PiRO is of course a pizza stone. This stone was made especially for the PiRO! The stone is 18 mm thick and retains the heat well due to its weight of 5 kilos.
Before using the stone, first warm up the kamado (up to approximately 200 degrees) before placing the deflector plates (or conveggtor) above the coals and placing the PiRO in the kamado. Then close the top vent (or daisy disk) and open the window of the PiRO to ensure that the heat flows through the kamado from the back and escapes from the front. This way you create the same air flow as a traditional pizza oven and bake the tastiest pizzas! So you no longer regulate the temperature with the top vent, but with the window of the PiRO.
A pizza stone requires almost no maintenance, just wipe it clean with a dry cloth after use and scrape off the caked-on ingredients. Absolutely do not wash the stone with water, the water will soak into the stone, causing it to break the next time you use it!
