Fire Starters: These Vuur&Rook production wokels are made from untreated wood, vegetable and food suitable wax and natural resins. The combustion is therefore poison-free and practically odorless. Place only 1 Vuur&Rook production wokel on the charcoal and it burns long enough to make the coal glow, or place 1 under your briquette starter!
Black Wattle: Horeca Grade charcoal from Vuur & Rook ensures a very long, constant surf and a horrible heat in your (ceramic) BBQ! This charcoal comes from South Africa and is made from the waste wood from the fast-growing and common exotic Acacia tree. Ideal for low & slow preparations in your ceramic barbecue. This charcoal is sold per 10 kg bag.
Charcoal is offered in various types. A good charcoal contains a rough selection of obsolete pieces. As a result, the charcoal burns constantly and sufficient oxygen can get between the pieces, so that all pieces can ignite.
A good charcoal is not mixed, but consists of one type of wood. This is also important to keep the temperature constant. If you have a kamado such as a Big Green Egg or a Bastard, then charcoal is the perfect fuel. Charcoal is able to burn with very little oxygen and at the same time is able to become horribly hot.
Briquettes require a minimal amount of oxygen and often go out prematurely when used in a kamado.
Fire & Smoke South African Grade Charcoal Restaurant is made from 100% Black Wattle wood. Very suitable for use in the ceramic barbecue. This species gives off little smoke and a neutral taste.
