History
Ontario knife company (Old Hickory) has a long history and a proud tradition that goes back to 1889.
The original 3 founders started in Ontario county, New York with the production of the first knives with a large sharpening stone driven by the local water mill. Initially sold locally from a handcart, the company, which was now called the Ontario Knife Company, quickly made a name for itself.
In 1902, due to this success and the lack of space, it was relocated to another larger, water-powered mill in Franklinville, and today the production of the knives takes place here. and the handle of locally sourced hardwood.
International fame of these authentic knives only came when the pitmasters, the BBQ Pit Boys, who are known from Youtube, used them in their films and did not want to work with any other knife. Millions of views later, the indestructible but affordable Old Hickory knives can no longer be ignored in the BBQ world and it has become one of our most popular products.
