Fries Sugarloaf from the Dutch Oven
Ingrediënts:
- 500 gr flour
- 1 packet of yeast (7 g)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp of salt
- 200 ml of milk
- 75 ml ginger syrup
- 350 g grit or pearl sugar
- 50 g sugar
- 100 gr butter
- 1 egg
Necessities:
- The Windmill Dutch Oven
- Vuur&Rook Briquettes
- Baking paper
Step 1: Make a hole in the flour, add the yeast and 1 tsp of sugar, with a little warm (not hot, otherwise the yeast will not work) milk, place this for half an hour with a cloth over it in a warm place, without draft .
Step 2: Add the rest of the ingredients after half an hour, mix it well, and place it again in a warm place with a cloth over it.
Step 3: Knead the dough again and shape into balls.
Step 4: Place the balls that are ready on baking paper and brush them with milk or egg yolk (that gives a nice brown color), put another cloth over it and let them rest again.
Step 5: The balls can be placed in the Dutch Oven with 6 briquettes underneath and 15 on top, this for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you do the chopsticks test: with a saté stick prick into the globules, no dough sticks to it stick, then these are good.
